Quarterly Giving Update: Helping One Child Hear, and Supporting Our Heroes Next

One of the goals my wife and I had when starting Maritt Auto was to create a business that gives back. While we're still a small company, I believe even small businesses can make a meaningful difference when they consistently support organizations doing incredible work.

Each quarter, I donate a portion of the proceeds from Maritt Auto's Window Regulator Rebuild Service to a nonprofit organization making a positive impact.

Quarter 2 Results

I'm happy to share that during the second quarter we were able to donate $800 to Sounding Joy.

My personal goal was to reach $1,000, so we came up a little short. But what matters most is the impact that donation will have. The funds we raised will help provide life-changing hearing aids for a child, giving them opportunities to better communicate, learn, and connect with the people around them.

Knowing that our rebuild service helped make that possible is something I'm incredibly proud of.

Quarter 3 Charity: Wounded Warriors in Action

For the third quarter, we have chosen Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIA), a nonprofit organization based in Apollo Beach, Florida.

WWIA serves combat-wounded Purple Heart recipients by providing therapeutic outdoor sporting adventures at no cost to the veterans they serve. These experiences are designed to do far more than offer recreation—they recognize sacrifice, strengthen camaraderie, and promote healing.

Their mission is built around three simple but powerful principles:

Honor. Connect. Heal.

WWIA honors the service and sacrifice of Purple Heart recipients through meaningful outdoor experiences. They connect veterans with fellow Heroes and caring communities, creating friendships and support systems that often last a lifetime. They help wounded veterans heal mentally, physically, and spiritually through time spent outdoors with people who understand their journey.

Their commitment to veterans has earned national recognition. WWIA has been ranked #1 out of 78 military charity programs by an independent scientific consortium and directs approximately 90% of every donated dollar to field programs, ensuring donations make a real impact.

Many of the veterans they serve are living with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, or life-changing physical injuries. These events provide an opportunity to reconnect, regain confidence, and discover renewed purpose.

Q2 2026 GIVING PARTNER: SOUNDING Joy

My wife and I wanted to start doing something meaningful through the business by supporting organizations that are making a real impact in people’s lives. Each quarter we choose a different charity to support, and during that quarter, 10% of all rebuild service purchases are donated directly to that organization.

For Q2 of 2026, we chose Sounding Joy.

Sounding Joy is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ignite joy by providing life changing hearing aids, accessories, and services to children whose families cannot afford them. Through their work, they help open doors to confidence, connection, communication, and lifelong success for children throughout the Tampa Bay area.

What really stood out to us was the story behind the organization and its founder, Christy Vogel.

At the age of 11, Christy learned that she was hard of hearing and had likely been living with hearing loss since birth. Without realizing it, she had taught herself how to read lips just to understand the world around her. Because she often needed extra time to process conversations by combining sound, facial expressions, and lip reading, people sometimes assumed she was slow or unintelligent.

As she grew older, and still without hearing aids because her family could not afford them, those assumptions started to affect how she viewed herself.

It wasn’t until her twenties, after already finding success in the business world despite her hearing loss, that she was finally able to purchase her first pair of hearing aids. That moment changed her life. For the first time, she could fully participate in conversations and contribute with confidence. Her career and opportunities expanded dramatically from there.

In 2021, Christy realized that her own experiences had given her a passion and purpose to help others facing the same challenges. That same year, she founded Sounding Joy to help provide hearing aids to children whose families otherwise could not afford them.

Since then, Sounding Joy has helped more than 100 children throughout the extended Tampa Bay area through partnerships with providers including Tampa Children’s ENT, USF Audiology, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

We are honored to support an organization that is changing lives in such a direct and meaningful way.
